The Universe Keeps Saving River And We Don't Know Why

Ok, we're back after Buck's elimination! He just wasn't vulnerable enough to stay…but if River didn't have immunity Buck would still be with us. Perry was our surprising standout! He totally exceeded expectations based on his First Impression. Let's see what episode 2 has in store! Will next episode be our finale?!

THE BACHELORETTE'S LEAD SPOTLIGHT

First, we need to learn a little bit more about Dove! Last episode we got to hear about Dove's free-spirited family and even got to see a clip of one of her parents cheering her on!

We're going to roll our d20 twice to find out some new information. We'll refer to our Spotlight Prompts and Traits lists to see what information we learn. 3 and 19 for the spotlight! So Dove will be telling us about a past relationship that shaped her and how nurturing she is.

Dove's Story on a Past Relationship that Shaped Her = The Empress

Ok so Empress is a VERY powerful card for a past relationship. I feel like this really ties into the Star as her past in the Setup spread. We already knew she had good relationships in the past, and this is one of those. This is definitely a relationship where she learned how to be her most feminine, lovely self. This relationship made it easy for her to be gentle and romantic, instead of her usual awkward, overwhelmed self.

Nurturing = 1

Lol, she isn't nurturing at all…which also tracks. I feel like this makes sense for the story she wanted to tell…she wanted to share that although she is probably the least nurturing person you'll meet, she does have a soft side.

Now let's roll for our major twist!! Alright 6, a double twist!! 5 and 4!! It's the very top of the episode and we're ALREADY granting immunity and doing a chaos moment!!

Stooooop River gets immunity AGAIN!! This man is production‑proof!! Twist‑immune!

And now the chaos moment rolls! Perry: +3; River: +15 (but immune); Eelias: –14

So maybe River's hotness is really capturing Dove even if she doesn't like his personality?! Lololol

So overall, the Lead Spotlight gave us:

• The Empress → Dove once had a relationship that brought out her soft, feminine side… even though she is absolutely not a naturally nurturing person. Nurturing = 1 → She openly admits she's not the comforting, caretaking type. The "soft side" she's talking about is real, but it's not her default setting.
• A CRAZY save of River! Dove seems DETERMINED to get that man to the finale!
• An immediate ding to Eelias!

THE BACHELORS

With that crazy save before the group date even begins, Perry and Eelias are the only two truly looking to impress. These two were also our front runners last episode, both with the score and their date performance.

We're going to roll a d6 to determine the type of date, pull a card to represent the date itself, and then pull cards to see a moment between Dove and each contestant.

GROUP DATE = Reversed 9 of Wands

For our date, we have rolled a 3, which means a social or party date! The skill we'll be looking at for each character is their charm! Also, I'm using the Ethereal Visions deck by Matt Hughes so there's 2 bonus cards!!

A game night where people get way too honest! The reversed 9 of Wands feels like... defensive walls coming down? People getting too honest when the games get competitive?

The Artist, Charm = 3

From the guidebook: The Artist is the vessel of creation. This card signifies humankind and shows when you need to open to the knowledge that is available if you stop and set aside the distractions of the human condition and listen.

So I feel like Perry was very good and creative when playing the games, but maybe not really collaborating well with others? Not really connecting with the GROUP energy. Like he's executing well but missing the social collaboration part. The vessel of creation but isolated. With charm 3 he's not quite bringing people along with him. (Interpretation modifier = -1)

🌊 River (IMPRESSION = -11)

The Well, Charm = 6

From the guidebook: The Well is the birthplace of ideas, inspiration and transformation. All things are birthed from this Creatrix whose knowledge flows freely to those who seek it.

So River saw this opportunity and decided to finally show a little bit of that first episode charm! FINALLY. River is tapping into something real. The well of inspiration is flowing and he's letting Dove see it. After being closed off at story hour and cutting with his humor in the escape room, he's finally accessing depth and showing it. Charm 6 means it's working moderately well!

This is honestly hilarious in the context of his immunity streak. So River, who has been coasting on hotness and cosmic luck, finally decides to show up socially. He's not trying to win; he's just letting something natural come through. It's that Episode 1 spark resurfacing! (Interpretation modifier = +1)

GROUP DATE SCORE = +12

😶 Eelias (IMPRESSION = 13)

The World, Charm = 8

Accomplished and won all of the games!! He's DOMINATING. Everything is coming together for him. He's winning, he's charming (8!), he's the complete package in this moment. The World is literally everything aligning perfectly. He's charming, he's socially fluid, he's reading the room, he's connecting with people, and he's doing it without strain. After getting dinged at the top of the episode, this is exactly the kind of rebound he needed. (Interpretation Modifier = +5)

GROUP DATE SCORE = +16

MAJOR TWISTS!

Perry rolls a 1 so he gets a call from a loved one! Then, River rolled a 6! So we roll again for 2 twists!! 2 FINALLY A NEW MAN!! And 5...RIVER GETS IMMUNITY HAHAHAHA. I don't even know what to do here... And finally, an Eelias chaos moment!!

So for Perry's loved one's call I pulled the Cross from a Lenormand deck. I feel like the cross and the Artist make sense to give us context revolving around why Perry was so withdrawn and in his own creative space during game night. I'm seeing a religious grandparent telling a story about Perry's childhood, saying something like "Perry was never like the other kids, always so serious."

The Cross in Lenormand = burden, faith, destiny, suffering with purpose. Combined with The Artist's isolation and "stop and listen" energy...Perry wasn't being antisocial at game night. He was being PERRY. This is who he is, serious, internal, creative, a little separate from the crowd. And his grandparent is essentially confirming: he's always been like this. It's not a flaw, it's just him. I feel like Dove would find this endearing. (+3 to Perry)

Let's roll for Eelias's chaos moment before we announce our new contestant! Perry rolls 1 = ODD = +1. River rolls 2 = EVEN = -2 (but the IMMUNE gods are on his side so he's acting chill). Eelias rolls 16 = EVEN = -16 😬

EELIAS JUST GOT HIT WITH -16 FROM HIS OWN MAJOR'S CHAOS MOMENT!! The man who dominated game night with The World and charm 8 just got completely kneecapped by his own twist!! And River gets -2 but doesn't care because IMMUNITY gods are on his side 😂

NEW CONTESTANT!!

NOW!!! 3 for River's new contestant twist! Someone new is joining!

👋🏾 FIRST IMPRESSION = 1

He's that soft-hearted, dreamy, emotionally open guy. His core personality traits are: Sensitive, intuitive, creative (music, art, poetry, film vibes), romantic in a sweet, not flashy way, slightly shy or awkward but genuine, with a big imagination, sometimes lives in his own world.

He's the type who: sends thoughtful texts out of nowhere, daydreams about love, and believes in "signs" and fate. He feels things deeply but might not always know how to express them maturely yet, he's still learning. Rusty is the artsy boy at the edge of the party. The guy writing songs in his room. The soft-spoken crush who is a little bit below average but with a big heart. Makes sense Dove doesn't like him at all he'd overwhelm the HECK out of her lololol.

Rusty is exempt from elimination this episode — he needs one full group date first!!

Mini events are up next!! Perry earned the solo date with a running impression of 35. Will he keep his momentum going? Will River's immunity streak finally end? And how will Eelias recover from getting kneecapped by his own chaos moment?
